Google Wallet is updating its platform to better support open-loop payment systems for transit. The update includes a dedicated page that groups together recent activity and ride history, shows savings from time-based fare caps, and supports network-specific offerings. The update is launching first for Brighton and Hove Buses in the UK and will expand to more cities next year. Additionally, Google Wallet users in Seattle and the Puget Sound Region will soon be able to add ORCA transit cards to their digital wallet, allowing them to access real-time card balance, transaction history, and reload their balance.
