Stability AI has released Stable Video Diffusion (SVD), a free AI research tool that can transform any still image into a short video clip. The tool consists of two models, SVD and SVD-XT, which can generate video synthesis at varying speeds and resolutions. While the technology is still in its early stages and has mixed results, Stability AI aims to refine the models based on user feedback. The source and weights of Stable Video Diffusion are available on GitHub, and Stability AI is also working on a text-to-video model.
