Niagara Region Declares State of Emergency Ahead of 2024 Solar Eclipse
Ontario’s Niagara Region has declared a state of emergency in preparation for the upcoming solar eclipse on April 8, which is expected to attract up to a million visitors. The declaration aims to address potential challenges such as traffic congestion, increased demands on emergency services, and cell phone network overloads. Niagara Falls, in the path of totality, is anticipated to experience record-breaking visitor numbers, with the eclipse set to be the first to touch the province since 1979.
