Expanding Offshore Wind Projects Along Jersey Shore
Wind power developers have proposed four new offshore wind projects off the New Jersey Shore, which would more than double the number of wind farms in the area if approved. Two of the projects would be located further out to sea and not visible from the beach, addressing concerns from residents. The proposed projects aim to generate enough electricity to power hundreds of thousands to millions of homes. The bids come in addition to three wind farms already approved by New Jersey regulators as the state aims to become a leading hub for offshore wind development.
