Massive Data Breach at Mr. Cooper Exposes 14.7 Million People's Information
Mortgage lender Mr Cooper has revealed that the scope of a cyberattack on its systems was much worse than initially believed, with almost 14.7 million people's private information, including addresses and bank account numbers, being stolen. The breach, which occurred between October 30 and November 1, is expected to cost the company at least $25 million to address. While there is no evidence of the stolen data being used for identity theft or fraud, Mr Cooper will continue to monitor the dark web for any signs of misuse. Affected individuals will receive 24 months of free credit monitoring.
