Massive Data Breach at Mr. Cooper Exposes Personal Information of 14 Million Customers
Mortgage and loan company Mr. Cooper, one of the largest in the US, has suffered a data breach impacting approximately 14.6 million people, including both current and former customers. The breach, which occurred in October, exposed sensitive customer information such as names, addresses, phone numbers, Social Security numbers, and bank account numbers. The unauthorized access to the company's systems lasted for a few days before being detected. Mr. Cooper is offering two years of free credit monitoring and identity protection services to affected customers.
