A body found on the shores of Lake Ontario in 1992 has been identified as Vincent C. Stack, a man from Buffalo who went missing in Niagara Falls State Park in 1990. It is believed that Stack went over the falls and his remains drifted over 140 miles before washing up on Oswego's shores. The identification was made through familial DNA matching, and Stack's family has been notified. The sheriff's office is also investigating a similar unidentified remains case from 1983.

The U.S. Coast Guard is searching for Noel Rubio, a 60-year-old sailor who went missing during a planned three-week sail from Long Beach, California, to Oahu, Hawaii. Rubio departed on Dec. 28 but never arrived at his destination on Jan. 18 as expected. The Coast Guard is using all available means to locate his vessel, the Malulani, and has asked for any information about his whereabouts to be reported immediately.

The body of a man who had been missing since October was found in the ventilation system of a building on Macomb Community College's campus in Clinton Township.
