Three North American Climbers Presumed Dead on New Zealand's Tallest Peak
Three climbers, two Americans and one Canadian, are presumed dead after going missing on New Zealand's Aoraki/Mount Cook. Despite an extensive search, only their belongings and footprints were found, leading authorities to conclude they likely fell. The search was hampered by bad weather, and the case has been referred to a coroner. Aoraki is known for its challenging climbing conditions, and over 240 deaths have occurred there since the 20th century.
