"Shoppers Rave Over Costco's $150 Dupe Mirror Matching $1K Option"

Costco is selling a floor mirror that closely resembles a luxury mirror from Anthropologie, sparking a viral craze on social media. Priced at $149.99, the Ravena Floor Mirror quickly sold out at many locations, prompting shoppers to call local stores for availability. Sam's Club also offers a similar mirror, the Azalea Park Filigree Floor Mirror, for $149.98. While some are excited about the affordable dupe, others question the hype over a floor mirror. "Apple's Computational Photography Unveils Reality-Bending Mistake for Bride-to-Be"

A U.K. woman trying on wedding dresses discovered a photo of herself with different poses in each mirror reflection, due to a mistake in Apple's computational photography pipeline. The camera treated the reflections as different people, resulting in three different versions of her. This glitch occurs because the algorithm stitches together multiple images, choosing the best versions for each reflection, but fails to recognize mirrors. This phenomenon has been used by younger generations to create humorous images for social media.

Lululemon's Mirror acquisition fails to shine amidst holiday sales surge.

Lululemon's acquisition of connected-fitness platform Mirror for $500 million in June 2020 has resulted in a $442.7 million post-tax impairment charge in the fourth quarter of 2022, almost writing off the business entirely. The athleisure company struggled to integrate Mirror operationally, culturally, and from a sales perspective, and Mirror Founder Brynn Putnam stepped down as CEO in September 2021. Lululemon is now considering a future of no longer producing the Mirror hardware and is pivoting away from the "hardware centric" business model.

"Scientists Develop Time-Reversing 'Mirror' for Electromagnetic Waves"

Scientists at the City University of New York have created a "mirror" that can reflect an electromagnetic wave backward in time, paving the way for ultra-fast communication and computing applications using light. The mirror temporally reverses waves, reflecting them stretched out and reversed. The team's next endeavor will be to experiment in the hundreds of GHz, but they will still be far from the 400THz frequencies of visible light.
