Ukrainian Military Officer Orchestrated Nord Stream Attack: Report
A senior Ukrainian military officer, Colonel Roman Chervinsky, allegedly coordinated the sabotage attack on the Nord Stream gas pipelines last year, according to anonymous Ukrainian and European officials. Chervinsky, who had intelligence ties and served in Ukraine's Special Operations Forces, reportedly managed logistics and support for a team that placed explosive charges on the pipelines using a sailboat and deep-sea diving equipment. The incident damaged Russia's ability to sell natural gas to Western Europe and fueled a surge in energy prices. Investigations into the sabotage are being conducted by Denmark, Germany, and Sweden.
