The Los Angeles home of WNBA star Sabrina Ionescu and her husband, ex-NFL player Hroniss Grasu, was burglarized while they were not home, with thieves smashing a rear glass door and stealing items; no arrests have been made.
One of Los Angeles' most notorious homeless encampments, located under the 405 Freeway in Mar Vista, has been cleared as part of the Inside Safe program. The encampment, which had been a scene of various issues including shootings and drug deals, was cleared with an estimated 50 people being housed in a nearby hotel with wrap-around services and housing navigation support. The operation faced challenges due to the encampment being split between two council districts and Culver City. Officials hope that the clearing of the encampment will be a permanent solution, but emphasize the need for more housing and services in every council district and neighboring cities.
