
Red Sox Legend Mike Greenwell Dies at 62 After Cancer Battle
Former Boston Red Sox outfielder Mike Greenwell, who played from 1985 to 1996 and was an All-Star and Silver Slugger recipient, died at age 62 due to medullary thyroid cancer. At the time of his death, he was serving as County Commissioner in Lee County, Florida, where he was also a lifelong resident. Greenwell's funeral services have not yet been announced.
