US Avoided Bunker-Buster Use on Deep Iran Nuclear Site, Deploying Decoys Instead
The US did not use bunker-buster bombs on Iran's deep underground nuclear site in Isfahan last weekend because they likely would have been ineffective due to the site's depth. Instead, the US targeted other sites with missiles, and assessments suggest some nuclear material may still remain underground, with Iran possibly moving some of it beforehand. The strikes damaged above-ground structures but did not eliminate Iran's nuclear capabilities, which remain a concern.
