Swapping out the hybrid battery in a Toyota Prius is surprisingly easy and can be done with relatively little disassembly and only a few specialty tools. A new, upgraded battery pack costs just over $2,000 and can be installed by the owner. Despite the cost, it's worth replacing the battery on an older Prius for its practicality, fuel efficiency, and affordability.
