Hannah Payne, the woman found guilty in the murder of Kenneth Herring during a citizen's arrest, has been sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole. Payne was convicted of felony murder, malice murder, aggravated assault, false imprisonment, and weapons possession charges. Herring's family requested a life sentence, expressing their loss and the impact on his children and grandchildren. Following the sentencing, the Clayton County District Attorney's office is investigating death threats against both families involved in the trial. Payne claimed self-defense during the trial, stating that Herring attacked her, but the jury unanimously found her guilty on all counts.
