Woman Convicted of Vigilante Murder in Georgia to Receive Sentencing Today

Hannah Payne, who was found guilty of murder in the death of a hit-and-run driver, will be sentenced today. Payne followed Kenneth Herring after he hit another car and drove off, confronted him, and shot him, ignoring orders from a 911 operator not to pursue him. Defense attorneys argued that Herring shot himself during a struggle with the gun. Payne was found guilty on all counts, including malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, false imprisonment, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
