"Unraveling the Implications: Decoding the Arrival of Solar Storms on Earth"
Federal forecasters have warned that Earth is likely to experience geomagnetic disturbances caused by incoming solar storms starting from Saturday and lasting through the next week. These disturbances, caused by coronal mass ejections from the sun, may result in an increase in sightings of the aurora borealis. In a worst-case scenario, strong geomagnetic storms can disrupt the electrical grid, degrade GPS signals, affect satellites, and pose radiation hazards to airline crews and astronauts.
