Divimara Lamar Nava, the wife of Texas shooting suspect Francisco Oropesa, was arrested for allegedly helping him plan his escape to Mexico and bringing him donuts at a bolthole near the scene of the mass shooting. She admitted to delivering a message from Oropesa to his cousins, asking them to help smuggle him out of the country. While Oropesa was hiding, Lamar Nava cooperated with investigators. Oropesa was arrested on five counts of first-degree murder after killing his neighbors in Cleveland, Texas, and has been deported to Mexico four times between 2009 and 2016.

Texas Shooting Suspect and Accomplices Arrested After Manhunt.

Francisco Oropesa and his wife were allegedly plotting their escape to Mexico after he killed five of his neighbours in a horror mass shooting in Cleveland, Texas. Authorities said on Wednesday that the suspected gunman hid out in a home near Conroe just miles from the massacre while Divimara Lamar Nava brought him donuts from a local store. Ms Lamar Nava also allegedly delivered a message to her husband’s cousins asking them to help in their escape over the border – all the while she was pretending to cooperate with investigators. The cousins refused.

Several more people have been arrested in connection to the Texas mass shooting that left five people dead on Friday, after suspect Francisco Oropesa was tracked down and captured on Tuesday. One of the individuals has been identified as the suspect’s wife. The accused gunman had been the focus of a dramatic four-day manhunt in the wake of Friday’s shooting which unfolded when his neighbours asked him to stop shooting near their home because a baby was trying to sleep.

The FBI is working with law enforcement agencies across the state, country, and across the border, and is offering a $25,000 reward for information leading to his capture. Texas Gov. Greg Abbot has offered $50,000 for his capture, and other counties have chipped in $5,000 for a total of $55,000.

More than three days on, Mr Oropesa, 38, is still on the run. Meanwhile, Texas Governor Greg Abbott has been forced to walk back his comments calling the victims “illegal immigrants”.

Manhunt for Texas Shooting Suspect Continues Amid $80k Reward and Dead Ends

The manhunt for Francisco Oropesa, who allegedly killed five people, including an eight-year-old boy, in Texas, continues with "zero leads" according to the FBI. Oropesa shot his neighbours with an AR-15 style rifle after they asked him to stop firing rounds in his yard. The search has been widened with more than 200 law enforcement personnel from several agencies involved. The office of Texas governor Greg Abbott is offering a $50K reward for information that leads to Mr Oropesa’s arrest. FBI Special Agent James Smith said his agency is also contributing $25K to that sum, while local law enforcement is offering an extra $5K, bringing the total amount of reward to $80K.
