Millionaire's Elaborate Escape Plan to French Castle Foiled by Authorities
John Manchec, a multimillionaire with dual U.S. and French citizenship, planned an elaborate escape from a Florida jail to return to France, where he had fled previously to avoid child pornography charges. The plan involved his employees pepper-spraying prison guards during a medical visit and taking him to his private plane. However, the plot was foiled after a tip-off from one of the people involved. Manchec remains in jail with additional charges related to the escape, along with two inmates and two employees who were also arrested and charged with conspiracy.
