"Double Delight: Dual Nebulae in Orion"
A stunning image showcases the Flame Nebula and the Horsehead Nebula within the Orion constellation, captured after about 60 hours of observing the same patch of sky every night all winter. The Flame Nebula, an emission nebula about 1,000 light-years from Earth, and the iconic Horsehead Nebula, located a little less than 1,400 light-years away, are both featured in the image, with the darkness in the nebulae primarily due to thick dust blocking the light of the stars behind them.
