Amblin Partners and Universal Pictures Forge Multi-Year Partnership

Amblin Partners and Universal Pictures have renewed their film partnership, granting Universal first-look status on all Amblin theatrical film projects. The new multi-year deal allows Amblin more creative and financial flexibility, transitioning from financing its own films to having a traditional producing deal with the studio. While there may be job cuts in the future for Amblin, the partnership with Universal will continue to provide Steven Spielberg with the autonomy to make the films he wants. Amblin will also maintain its film partnership with Netflix and its TV production business.
