Lebanon and Kuwait Take Action Against 'Barbie' Film for Alleged Promotion of Homosexuality
Lebanon and Kuwait are poised to ban the global hit movie "Barbie" due to concerns over its promotion of homosexuality and its alleged contradiction of religious and moral values. Lebanon's culture minister has requested a review of the film by the censorship committee, while Kuwait has already implemented the ban. The release date of the film has been pushed back in some Middle East markets, including Saudi Arabia, to accommodate suggested edits related to LGBTQ content. Movies dealing with sex, homosexuality, and religious issues are often censored or banned in the Middle East.
