China has unveiled the world's fastest internet speed service, capable of transferring data at 1.2 terabits per second (1,200 gigabits per second). Developed as part of China's Future Internet Technology Infrastructure (FITI), the backbone network, a collaboration between Tsinghua University, China Mobile, Huawei Technologies, and China Education and Research Network (CERNET) Corporation, surpasses expert predictions and is faster than existing internet backbone networks.
