Tensions Rise: Jaishankar Points Finger at China and Pakistan for Deteriorating Bilateral Relations
India's External Affairs Minister, S Jaishankar, blamed China for the downturn in bilateral ties, stating that it was created by Beijing's violation of agreements on the Line of Actual Control. He emphasized that a workable relationship requires both parties to observe agreements and respect each other. Jaishankar also addressed the issue of terrorism, stating that India will not tolerate a situation where a member of SAARC engages in acts of terrorism. He highlighted the importance of mobilizing the international community to delegitimize terrorism. Additionally, he criticized Prime Minister Nehru's handling of the Kashmir situation, stating that it had a long-term impact on Indian diplomacy. Jaishankar also discussed the need to strike a balance between ties with Russia and the United States, emphasizing that India's relationships should not be seen as a zero-sum game.
