Clear nail polish prototype turns nails into touchscreen styluses
A Centenary College of Louisiana chemistry student and his adviser developed a clear, non-toxic nail polish that can turn a fingernail into a capacitive touchscreen stylus by forming a conductive surface through taurine and ethanolamine, enabling proton exchange to mimic skin conductivity. It’s a proof-of-concept with durability limitations; researchers filed a provisional patent and continue refining the formula before potential market use.
