"NY Attorney General Sues JBS Over Misleading Climate Claims"
New York Attorney General Letitia James is suing JBS Foods, the world's largest beef producer, for false advertising regarding sustainability claims, alleging that the company made misleading pledges to curb deforestation and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The lawsuit seeks $454 million in damages and aims to halt JBS's "Net Zero by 2040" campaign. This legal action comes as James also pursues a nearly $355 million fine from former President Trump in a civil fraud case, with interest accruing at over $112,000 per day.
