Mother of 6-year-old Virginia school shooter discusses son's ADHD in GMA interview
The mother of the 6-year-old boy who shot his first-grade teacher in Newport News spoke out for the first time in an exclusive interview. She said her son’s actions can be linked to him having ADHD. The child's mother was indicted by a grand jury and charged with felony child neglect and misdemeanor recklessly leaving a loaded firearm so as to endanger a child. The child's family said he suffers from an “acute disability and was under a care plan at the school that included his mother or father attending school with him and accompanying him to class every day.” The child's grandfather now has legal custody.
