The Purdue Boilermakers defeated the Xavier Musketeers 83-71 in a hard-fought game. Xavier played well and stayed in the game by hitting key shots, but Purdue managed to maintain the lead. Purdue's big man, Edey, was a dominant force with 28 points, 11 rebounds, and 4 blocks. The Boilermakers struggled with giving up offensive rebounds and second chance points. Purdue's next challenge will be facing the Gonzaga Bulldogs in the Maui Invitation.
