Eating Order May Help Prevent Diabetes, Study Finds

A new study suggests that eating protein and non-starchy vegetables first in a meal and saving carbohydrate-rich foods for last may help with weight loss, increasing vegetable intake, and improving blood sugar levels. While the study did not find significant differences in glucose tolerance test results and HbA1c between the two groups, both groups showed lower blood sugar levels compared to baseline. Ultimately, choosing an eating pattern that includes a variety of foods, eating mindfully, managing stress, and getting enough sleep are key factors in preventing diabetes and maintaining overall health.
