Unearthing Ancient Treasures: Dinosaur Fossils Found in Maryland's Suburbs
A significant discovery of dinosaur fossils has been made at Dinosaur Park in Laurel, Maryland, marking the largest theropod fossil find in eastern North America in almost 140 years. Over 100 fossils, estimated to be 115 million years old, have been unearthed so far, including a three-foot-long shin bone believed to be from an Acrocanthosaurus. Other fossils found include a tooth from an Astrodon johnstoni, a tail vertebra from a plant-eating sauropod, and a thigh bone from a small theropod. Paleontologists are excited about the find as it helps connect pieces of dinosaur history and provides valuable insights into the ancient world.
