AMD has gained CPU market share in desktops, laptops, and servers, according to a report from PC hardware market research firm Mercury Research. AMD saw increases in both unit share and revenue share, with gains of 5.8 percent and 4.1 percent in desktops, 3.8 percent and 5.1 percent in laptops, and 5.8 percent and 1.7 percent in servers, respectively. The report suggests that AMD's gains likely came at the expense of Intel, its main competitor in the PC industry. AMD attributes its success to the release of its 4th-gen EPYC and Ryzen 7000-series processors.

Intel has reportedly scrapped the troubled Meteor Lake architecture for desktops, with the 14-core MTL-S Core i5 chip now expected to be based on the Arrow Lake architecture instead. An internal Intel client roadmap shared on Twitter suggests that the MTL-S has been cancelled, with the 14-core chip now potentially based on Arrow Lake. It is still unclear what Intel's 15th gen lineup of CPUs will look like, and there is no information yet on Meteor Lake processors for laptops.

NVIDIA has announced a wholesale update of their professional visualization product stack, including five new SKUs for professional laptops and a low-profile, small form factor optimized desktop RTX 4000 Ada Generation card. The laptop lineup includes the RTX 5000 Ada Generation Laptop GPU, which is analogous to the consumer RTX 4090 for Laptops, and the RTX 2000 Ada Generation for laptops, which is analogous to the consumer RTX 4060 for Laptops. The desktop RTX 4000 SFF Ada Generation is based on NVIDIA’s AD104 GPU and has a TDP of 70W.
