Unveiling the Secrets of a Medieval Crusader Sword through X-Ray
X-ray analysis of a sword recovered from the Mediterranean Sea off the coast of Israel has revealed that its blade is bent, indicating possible use in a naval battle during the Crusades. The Newe-Yam sword, dating back to the twelfth or thirteenth century, is one of seven swords found in the country from this period. The loss of the weapon may have contributed to the knight's demise, as swords were typically recycled once they were no longer in use.
