"Getty Images Unveils Revolutionary AI Image Generator"

Getty Images has launched a generative AI art tool called Generative AI by Getty Images, which uses an AI model provided by Nvidia to render images from text descriptions. The tool is designed to be commercially safer than rival solutions, with Getty imposing safeguards to prevent disinformation and replication of living artists' styles. Vietnam Greenlights First African Swine Fever Vaccines for Commercial Use

Vietnam has become the first country to approve the commercial use of two domestically developed vaccines against African swine fever, a deadly disease that has disrupted the global pork market. The vaccines, NAVET-ASFVAC and AVAC ASF LIVE, have shown an efficacy rate of 95% in recent tests on hog herds. "Databricks Advances Open Source AI with New Releases and Free Data"

Databricks has released Dolly 2.0, an open-source, instruction-following LLM fine-tuned on a transparent and freely available dataset that is also open-sourced to use for commercial purposes. Databricks also released the dataset on which Dolly 2.0 was fine-tuned on, called databricks-dolly-15k. Dolly 2.0 is a 12 billion-parameter language model based on the open-source Eleuther AI pythia model family and fine-tuned exclusively on a small, open-source corpus of instruction records generated by Databricks employees.

Police Officers Sue Rapper Afroman Over Use of Home Raid Footage in Music Videos

Seven Ohio law enforcement officers are suing rapper Afroman for using footage of their raid on his house in videos and merchandise for commercial purposes, causing them "humiliation, ridicule, mental distress, embarrassment and loss of reputation." The officers are seeking damages and a court injunction to remove the material. Afroman used the footage to sell products and promote his tours, including shirts imprinted with the faces of some of the officers. The rapper's lawyer plans to countersue for the unlawful raid, money being stolen, and damage to his client's family, career, and property.
