"Connecticut's Expansion: New EV Charging Stations Set to Multiply"
The U.S. Department of Transportation has awarded Connecticut's Department of Energy and Environmental Protection a $14.6 million grant to expand the state's network of electric vehicle charging stations, with a focus on neighborhood revitalization and equitable access. Seven towns and cities across the state, including Bridgeport, Hartford, and Stamford, will receive new charging stations, funded by President Joe Biden's Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. This initiative aims to make it easier for people and businesses to transition to cleaner cars and trucks, following Governor Ned Lamont's withdrawal from a plan to ban the sale of gasoline-powered cars in Connecticut by 2035.
