CDC Recommends Seniors Receive Additional COVID-19 Vaccine Dose
The CDC has recommended an additional COVID vaccine dose for people aged 65 and older, which is now covered by health insurers. The new vaccine, targeting the omicron variant, is available at pharmacies and healthcare providers. Those without insurance can access it through the federal Bridge Access Program. Kaiser Permanente members may need to get the vaccine at a Kaiser facility. The Novavax vaccine is also authorized for those aged 12 and older. It's advised to delay vaccination for 3 months after a recent COVID infection. Vaccination appointments can be found through pharmacies, healthcare providers, vaccines.gov, and My Turn for uninsured individuals.
