Minnesota Indian Tribe to Roll Out Cannabis 'Food Truck' for Statewide Expansion
The Red Lake Band of Chippewa Indians in Minnesota plans to launch a mobile dispensary, or "cannabis food truck," to expand its marijuana business across the state. The tribe currently operates one of the state's only adult-use marijuana shops and serves about 300 customers per day. The mobile dispensary will allow the tribe to set up shop anywhere on tribal land, providing more accessibility to consumers. This move comes as Minnesota is in the process of enacting regulations and licensing traditional retailers, which is expected to take at least another year. The Red Lake Nation's NativeCare retailer also plans to open two more shops in addition to the mobile service.
