"Louisiana Sheriff Candidate Henry Whitehorn Wins Do-Over Election by Landslide After Narrow Victory"
Henry Whitehorn, a career law enforcement officer, decisively won a do-over election for the Louisiana sheriff's race in Caddo Parish, securing 53% of the vote and becoming the parish's first Black sheriff. After his disputed one-vote victory in November was overturned due to illegal voting and ineligible voters, Whitehorn won by more than 4,000 votes in the new election. His opponent, Republican John Nickelson, conceded and congratulated Whitehorn, who will be sworn in on July 1, replacing the interim sheriff.
