Electric SUVs Compared: Tesla vs Toyota's bZ4X
The Toyota bZ4X SUV, Toyota's first mass-market electric vehicle, falls short compared to the Tesla Model Y in terms of range and charging speed. However, the bZ4X may be a suitable choice for those not planning on taking long trips. Both SUVs are comparable in price, with the Toyota starting at $42,000 and the Tesla at $46,990 (minus a $7,500 tax credit). The Model Y has better range, with an EPA rating of up to 330 miles, compared to the bZ4X's 252 miles. The Model Y also charges faster, with the ability to take in more than 200 kilowatts, while the bZ4X can only accept a maximum of 100 kilowatts. The Tesla also wins out on cargo space.
