The SUV's maximum charging rate of 100 kW meant excruciatingly long charging times, with the car never getting close to that rate. Toyota prioritised battery longevity, which meant putting a damper on fast charging. The experience isn't universal, with Teslas charging quickly and benefiting from an expansive, private charging network.
