Andrew Lloyd Webber's "Bad Cinderella" to End Broadway Run.
"Bad Cinderella," a musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber, will close on June 4, ending his 43-year-long streak of shows on Broadway. The show received hostile reviews, garnered zero Tony nominations, and struggled at the box office. The musical is a revisionist riff on the classic fairy tale, featuring a rebellious protagonist, a gay Prince Charming, and oppressive beauty standards. The show was capitalized for up to $19 million, but the money has not been recouped. At the time of its closing, "Bad Cinderella" will have played 33 preview performances and 85 regular performances.
