Scientists have discovered a new species of ant living more than 25 meters underground in the Pilbara region of Australia, and have named it L. Voldemort due to its resemblance to the Harry Potter villain. The pale and slender insect, belonging to the Leptanilla family, has spindly legs, powerful jaws, and a sharp sting, and is believed to be a predator feeding on centipedes, beetles, and flies. This discovery adds to the approximately 60 known species in the Leptanilla family and sheds light on the diverse underground ecosystems.
