Former Columbus police vice officer Andrew Mitchell has been found not guilty of murder and voluntary manslaughter in connection with the fatal shooting of 23-year-old Donna Dalton Castleberry in August 2018. The jury deliberated for about five hours before reaching their verdict. Mitchell remains in police custody and faces multiple federal charges related to forcing women to perform sexual acts in exchange for their freedom and lying to federal investigators. Mitchell's attorney said the process for charging officers has not been fair for a long time.
