Unveiling the Giant Void: Solving the Puzzle of the Universe's Expansion
Researchers from the Universities of Bonn and St. Andrews propose a new solution to the Hubble tension, which refers to the discrepancy in measured values of the Hubble-Lemaitre constant. Using an alternative theory of gravity called modified Newtonian dynamics (MOND), the researchers suggest that the observed deviations in the constant can be explained by irregularities in the distribution of matter, such as the existence of "bubbles" with lower matter density. This challenges the standard model of cosmology and suggests that gravity may behave differently than expected.
