"US Targets Iran and Syria with New Sanctions on Military and Financial Networks"

The US Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has imposed sanctions on six entities, one individual, and two tankers from Liberia, India, Vietnam, Lebanon, and Kuwait for facilitating commodity shipments and financial transactions for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps-Qods Force (IRGC-QF), the Houthis, and Hizballah. This action is part of a concerted effort to disrupt IRGC-QF finances and its support to terrorist proxies, targeting a network of Iran-based, IRGC-QF-backed Houthi financial facilitator Sa’id al-Jamal. The designated entities and individuals are blocked from engaging in transactions with US persons, and financial institutions engaging with them may face sanctions or enforcement actions.
