Biden Leads Americas Summit to Boost Economic Prosperity and Counter China's Influence

President Biden hosted the inaugural Americas Partnership for Economic Prosperity Leaders' Summit, where leaders from twelve countries announced plans to drive inclusive growth and strengthen critical supply chains, with a focus on clean energy, semiconductors, and medical supplies. The Americas Partnership will establish three tracks – foreign affairs, finance, and trade – to develop initiatives and actions, and will invite additional countries to join. President Biden also announced initiatives including a new investment platform for sustainable infrastructure, an accelerator program for entrepreneurs, grants for infrastructure and social services for migrants, workforce development in digital technology sectors, and a fund for climate financing solutions. The United States is providing significant funding to assist migrants and refugees in the Western Hemisphere. The Americas Partnership is collaborating with the Inter-American Development Bank to engage stakeholders and promote competitiveness and resilience in the region.
