"UN Report: Human Impact Endangers Migratory Species Worldwide"

A UN report warns that vulnerable migratory species are at an increasing risk of extinction due to human activity such as hunting, habitat destruction, climate change, and pollution. Of the 1,189 species assessed, one in five are threatened with extinction, with 97% of fish listed under the convention at risk. The report recommends identifying and protecting migration pathways, reducing infrastructure impacting these pathways, and restoring degraded land and marine areas. Despite the challenges, there is hope as some species have seen population recoveries due to conservation efforts.
