U.S. and EU unite to secure global energy markets.
The US-EU Task Force on Energy Security has made significant progress in reducing the EU's reliance on Russian energy, including diversifying natural gas supplies and reducing overall demand for natural gas. The Task Force will continue to focus on LNG markets, reduction of methane emissions, and energy savings and efficiency measures in 2023. The EU Energy Platform will launch its first joint tenders under the Aggregate EU in May 2023, and the Task Force will facilitate engagement with the US LNG industry. The Task Force will also facilitate the exchange of best practices on energy savings and energy efficiency schemes and organize a high-level Business Roundtable on Energy Savings and Renewables in April 2023.
