3000-Year-Old Sword Unearthed in Remarkable Condition

Archaeologists in Bavaria, southern Germany, have discovered a well-preserved octagonal sword dating back to the end of the 14th century BCE, the Middle Bronze Age. The sword, made entirely of bronze, was found in a burial site and is believed to have been left as a gift. The sword was found in a grave containing the remains of three people, a man, a woman, and a young person, who were buried with a rich array of grave goods. The sword is a rare find and was balanced mainly for slashing.
