NASA's Historic Asteroid Sample Safely Delivered to Utah Desert

NASA's OSIRIS-REx spacecraft successfully delivered the largest soil sample ever collected from an asteroid as it parachuted into the Utah desert. The capsule, containing the sample collected from the asteroid Bennu, touched down within a designated landing zone west of Salt Lake City. This marks the third asteroid sample, and the largest, ever returned to Earth for analysis. The sample, estimated at 250 grams, holds valuable clues about the origins and development of rocky planets and may even contain organic molecules necessary for the emergence of life. The capsule will be opened on Tuesday, and the samples will be distributed to scientists in laboratories around the world.
