Ohio Voters to Decide on Abortion Rights Amendment in November

Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose has confirmed that organizers have gathered enough valid signatures to place an amendment on the November ballot, enshrining abortion rights in the state's constitution. The proposed amendment aims to ensure every individual's right to make and carry out reproductive decisions. This comes after neighboring states Kentucky and Michigan supported abortion rights in their own ballot measures. Ohio Democratic Party Chair Elizabeth Walters hailed the announcement as an important victory for Ohio women. Meanwhile, Ohio voters will also decide in an August special election whether to raise the threshold for amending the state constitution.
